Celebrating Easter with a Fantastic Meal

Easter is a family holiday. And when we all get together, there is often food and drinks!

For Easter, we have tried it all, from going to my Mom's house in the afternoon for a homemade spread to foregoing the preparation and dishes and eating at a local restaurant instead.

For us, eating out just makes our lives so much easier! And so that is what we're going to focus on today as Easter Weekend 2026 approaches.

San Diego has some really nice restaurants, many of which host special events on or around Easter Sunday, and they all sound really good! It's worth noting that these restaurants are some of our favorites in San Diego, a few of which we have tested firsthand many times, and all of which have been vouched for as quality spots we'd take our families to!

A Hotel to Match

We know that many of you may have family and friends coming to town to celebrate Easter. For our 2026 list of top Easter brunch spots, we paired each with a hotel that matches the experience.

With that in mind, consider staying overnight to make your weekend more festive.

The 10 Top Places for Easter Brunch in San Diego

Our team had a hard time narrowing down our best-of-the-best places that we think you should take your family for a tasty Easter brunch. But after some back-and-forth, I think we nailed it!

Let's dive into our list of the top spots for Easter brunch in San Diego for 2026!

1) Herb & Wood

Neighborhood: Little Italy San Diego
Hotel: Carte Hotel San Diego Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton
Address:
2210 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101
Date: April 5th, 2026
When: 11:30am - 2:00pm
Cost: Adults - $72+ | Kids - $30

Although Herb & Wood is located in Little Italy, it actually offers fine Mediterranean cuisine. It focuses on rustic, wood-fired dishes, made with basic ingredients that incorporate Mediterranean flavors and California's seasonality and sustainability.

The Easter brunch menu looks simply scrumptious. It offers three courses, with your choice of entree items. Highlights will include avocado and smoked seabass toast, Baja shrimp, and cinnamon French toast.

The meal can be enjoyed in an open, airy space beneath a majestic barrel-vaulted ceiling or in the secret garden-like courtyard. The atmosphere will be enhanced by San Diego-inspired artwork and storefront-like windows. You can also pair your meal with one of the restaurant's fine wines.

Stay for Easter Weekend

If you're staying overnight, consider booking a room at the Carte San Diego. The property offers clean and comfortable guest rooms and suites, plus delicious dining options.

Located in the Downtown San Diego area, it's become one of my personal favorite staycation spots.

The Provisional Kitchen at the Pendry San Diego is one of our founder Todd's favorite restaurants. It sits in one of the city's most charming neighborhoods, the Gaslamp Quarter.

While a bit on the pricey side, our team all agrees that the décor and design are refined and modern, and the food is absolutely delicious!

Their weekly brunch is excellent, so I'm confident in saying that their Easter brunch should be an over-the-top treat! Set for Easter morning, April 5th, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, Chef Brandon Sloan has put together a menu of brunch classics, plus a carving station and seasonal cocktails. The kids can also expect a visit from the Easter Bunny!

I instantly noticed the Build-Your-Own Parfait and the Chocolate Fountain. For an entrée, the Easter Omelet with spring peas, ham, goat cheese, and pea tendril sounds delicious. It also happens to be gluten-free.

The chef didn't forget the kids either, as Easter brunch is a family affair. Highlights from the kids' menu include the Peep Pancake, Egg-cellent Sausage Muffin Sandwich, and the Hoppity French Toast.

At Todd's request, we added brunch at The Provisional Kitchen at the Pendry San Diego to our Complete Guide to All the Holidays as a featured Easter brunch you won't want to miss.

Award-winning Chef Rafael Corniel offers several seafood options, including lobster rolls, and signature dishes, such as Dungeness crab Benedict. Chef Victor is in charge of desserts, with crème Brulé and a Valrhona chocolate layer cake as standouts. The spread will be buffet style with crepes and omelets made upon request.

Things to Know About Easter Brunch

If you've made it this far, you are more than prepared to pick a fantastic Easter brunch location for your family. Below are a couple of tips to make sure the day goes smoothly.

Do I Need to Make Reservations?

The easy answer to this is 'YES'!

I recommend you make a reservation so you don't have to wait when you arrive, especially if you have a large party. Some events may sell out as well, so the sooner you can save your seats, the better.

Getting There

Know that some Easter brunch events charge for parking or are located Downtown, where space is at a premium.

I'd say, depending on the location, take the FRED electric shuttle in Downtown, the Trolley if you're eating near PETCO Park and the Gaslamp Quarter, or a San Diego rideshare for some of the other selections.

Leaving the car behind means not having to find and pay for parking, and possibly a couple of extra mimosas!
