Fun Kid Attractions at Belmont Park in Mission BeachFun Rides at Belmont Park

Belmont Park, in the Mission Beach neighborhood of San Diego, initially opened in 1925. It was the brainchild of sugar magnate John D. Spreckels, who wanted to attract people to the area to sell real estate.

Since then, the Park has been continuously developed and updated, blending heritage with innovative rides and attractions. It's no surprise that millions of people visit each year! This attraction is the ultimate family-friendly adventure, with guaranteed thrills for kids of all ages.

When you're ready to take a break, there are plenty of catering options, from fine dining in spectacular settings to hot-dogs-on-sticks. Shops in and around the Boardwalk are perfect for souvenir hunting and treating yourself to clothes and accessories to complete your active beach lifestyle.

Ticket Information for Belmont Park at Mission Beach

There are two different options, including an attraction pass and an annual pass. With the attraction pass, it is $30 per person. You can enjoy unlimited rides, although height and safety restrictions do apply.

Another option is the annual pass, which allows you to have unlimited admission to the theme park all year long! For an adult, the price is $99, and juniors are $89.

Always check directly with the Belmont Park for any changes or updates to the latest pricing.

Enjoy Even More Attractions for the Same Price with a Go San Diego Pass!

While the annual pass for Belmont is an incredible deal, it doesn't give you access to any other attractions in San Diego. Not to mention, a yearly pass isn't ideal for individuals who are enjoying a brief visit to the area.

If you purchase a Go San Diego All-Inclusive Pass, you can enjoy free admission to over 30 different attractions. Take a ride on a plane over Mission Valley or choose to be part of a hiking tour through San Diego. Couple either of these with your trip to the theme park and save over $100.

To maximize your savings, you can purchase your pass through our website for an additional discount. The Go San Diego Pass starts at $99 per adult and $89 per child.

Another perk of the Go San Diego Pass is that Belmont Park can be better enjoyed over multiple days. The Go San Diego All-Inclusive Pass will give you the option to visit it every day for the whole duration of your pass. The same rules apply for the other attractions too!

So Many Sights to See at Belmont Park

Whatever your idea is of fairground fun, you'll have a superb choice - from the famous wooden roller coaster to the adventure-packed fun zone. Don't forget San Diego's largest indoor swimming pool.

Belmont is an excellent attraction, whether you're there to experience some wild thrills or to enjoy the lighter rides and experiences. If you're more of a mellow type, you can ride on the carousel or join the NYRA horse racing events! You could even grab a bite to eat and have a romantic picnic with your partner on the beautiful Mission Beach.

If you're more of a thrill-seeker, there are plenty of rides with twists and turns on a roller coaster! Take a ride on some of the best heart-pumping, adrenaline-inducing rides while you view the Pacific Ocean's spectacular views.

Rides and Attractions to Experience

Overdrive Bumper Cars

No visit to an amusement park is complete without a ride on the Bumper Cars! At Belmont Park, the driving floor is a massive 2000 square feet, so they'll have plenty of space to speed up.

  • Minimum height: 50" riding alone, or ride with someone who's at least eight years old and over 50".

Giant Dipper Roller coaster

Laser Tag

Laser Tag at Belmont Park is one of the favorites for kids. This laser tag game has two teams of eight where they will face off together on 3 levels. Once somebody gets “tagged” they are knocked offline for a few seconds and then they are reactivated.

Beach Blaster

The Beach Blaster is the ultimate high-adrenaline experience! While the giant arm swings up to heights of 67 feet, you'll be kept moving through seemingly random twists of 120 degrees. Swooping, spinning, and twisting unpredictably, this is a ride for the bravest of the brave!

  • Price: $6 single ride. Included with all Park Passes
  • Minimum Height: Must be at least 48".

Attractions for Kids

Belmont Express

Younger kids will love this cute mini train, with its smokestack puffing out steam. While parents ride along or watch proudly from the sidelines, their little ones enjoy touring the Park and waving at passers-by.

  • Price: $4 single ride. Included with all Park Passes
  • Minimum Height: Riders under two years must have a chaperone of at least eight years.

Plunge San Diego

After all the rides and attractions' excitement, why not plunge into the cooling waters of the newly renovated Plunge San Diego? At 12,000 square feet, it's the largest heated indoor pool in Southern California.

Enjoy spectacular views of the ocean from the massive glass walls. The Plunge is fully climate controlled, with a retractable roof, so you'll enjoy your dip in total comfort whatever the temperature outside.

Annual Events at Belmont Park

Belmont Park is home to several annual events. One that locals love is the yearly Beachside Fall Fest in October and November. This is an event for all ages. Your kids can trick-or-treat safely here while you enjoy live entertainment! There are also themed rides available.

Check with the calendar around the holidays to see if there are any other fun and surprising events!

Always Check the Weather Ahead of Time

Since the Park sits on the coast, the weather changes frequently. It's a great idea to check the weather before you head out so you don't get caught in the cold, rainy muck.

Bring the Correct Clothing and Footwear

Some attractions require particular clothing and footwear—for instance, the pool or the rock wall. If you go to the pool, you need your swimsuit. However, if you choose the rock wall, you need close-toed shoes. Make sure you bring these if you wish you participate in these activities!

Bring Sunscreen

You will be on the water and more prone to sunburn. Don't forget to bring a high SPF sunscreen with you to protect yourself against the sun's harmful rays.

Prices are subject to change

While we recommend the Go San Diego Pass for the best value for your trip to Belmont Park and other attractions as well as gear rentals such as paddle boards, bikes and surfboards, pricing for admission, as well as attractions and events are subject to change. Make sure to check directly with Belmont Park for the latest.
