For decades, Sesame Street has entertained and educated generations of children and their parents. The original location, Sesame Place Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, has expanded to San Diego, complete with an array of new rides, attractions, meet-and-greets, and other family-friendly activities.

Now, see this iconic location come alive like never before in its new location in Chula Vista. Located on the former site of Aquatica San Diego, the themed waterpark promises fun for the whole family. For those who don’t want to get wet, know that the park also features several dry attractions as well!

Visit Sesame Place San Diego at 2052 Entertainment Circle, Chula Vista, CA 91911. The park is open year-round from 10am - 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays only. During the peak summer months of June, July, August, and the last two weeks of December the park is also open Monday through Friday from 10am - 6pm.

Single-Day, Two-Park & Group Ticket Options

Ticket options for Sesame Place include Single-Day Tickets, Two-Park Tickets, and Group Single-Day Tickets. Prices vary depending on the day of the week and the time of year.

Single-Day Tickets

The cost of the single day tickets for both adults and kids is $65.

Two-Park Tickets

Two-park tickets offer admission to both Sesame Place and SeaWorld San Diego for a combined price of $140. They are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.

Group Single-Day Tickets

Groups of 15 or more can purchase group single-day tickets at a discounted rate. Prices range from $55-$60 per group member.

All single-day tickets are only valid on the specific day(s) they are purchased for. Children under 3 can enter the park for free.

Season Pass Options

Sesame Place also offers season passes, all of which allow pass holders to visit the park as many times as they like each calendar year! These passes come in four different tiers and get cheaper as the calendar year goes on because there are less days you can use the pass until they expire:

$144 for unlimited visits within the calendar year, PLUS:

From the moment guests step inside Sesame Place, they’re transported to the world of Sesame Street, where friends from the screen become real-life playmates! Exploring the park feels like taking a stroll down a life-size replica of the show’s titular street.

Eating Around the Park

Choose from various restaurants and snack stands sure to appeal to even the pickiest of kids. Sit-down eateries include Telly’s Trattoria, serving up slices of pizza, and Oscar’s Grouchy Grub, which features healthy options like salads and sandwiches.

In a rush to get back to the fun? Monster Snacks, Grover’s Grill, and Eats on the Street offer grab-and-go options for families on the move.

Character Dining

Step into the Sunny Day Café to dine alongside Elmo and his friends! This character dining experience lets families meet friendly faces while enjoying a buffet-style meal.

Sunny Day Café is an indoor restaurant with air conditioning that can seat up to 160 guests. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or another special occasion, or to simply elevate your visit from amazing to extraordinary.

The neighborhood includes multiple interactive elements so kids can get hands-on with fun games and challenges. Rind Bert and Ernie’s doorbell, knock on Oscar’s trash can, and use the apartment intercom. There are always characters walking around too, so keep an eye out for Elmo and his friends!

Sesame Street Party Parade

Sesame Place holds an exhilarating daily parade right down main street! Kids can dance along to music from the show as they watch performers, costumed characters, and themed floats. It’s more than a parade - it’s a party!

There are 18 different rides currently open at Sesame Place San Diego. Some are slower moving attractions ideal for the youngest members of the family, while others let kids experience their first thrill rides.

Rides are located in both the regular theme park and the water park.

Amusement Rides

Soar through the air on Abby’s Fairy Flight, ride Elmo's Rockin' Rockets into the atmosphere, or climb aboard the S. S. Duckie on Rub-A-Dub Sub. Each of Sesame Place’s amusement rides are themed around characters and segments of the show.

Looking for something more relaxing for younger kids? Try the Sunny Day Carousel, or visit a melody-themed playground at Rosita's Harmony Hills.

Wondering “How to get to Sesame Street?” The park can be accessed via I-5, I-15, or I-8. Exit onto Interstate 805 South, then follow the Main St. exit toward Auto Park Drive. Head straight onto Heritage Road and turn right at Entertainment Circle, which will lead to the park entrance.

Paid parking is offered at on-site lots. Prices start at $30 per car for general parking and $50 per car for preferred parking, though Sesame Place Season Passes offer free or reduced parking rates.

Are Ticket Prices Cheaper for Children?

Pricing for admission to Sesame Place San Diego for kids and adults is the same. However, guests under 3 years old may visit for free with a paid parent ticket.

Can Tickets Be Canceled or Exchanged?

All tickets are nonrefundable. However, tickets can be changed to a different date if needed. To exchange tickets, call 619-943-ELMO between 9am and 6pm EST (6am and 3pm PDT).

Where Is the Visitor Center?

The Guest Services and Information counter is located to the left of the park entrance, right before Big Bird’s Beach.
