Can I Still Get Tickets to San Diego Comic-Con 2026?

Unfortunately, all tickets, also known as 'attendee badges', are sold out for the 2026 event.

While you can't get into the Convention Center without a ticket, I can say from first hand experience that there will still be plenty to do outside the venue. Personally, I love enjoying the cosplay around the event and checking out the pop-up sets in the area. I'm also always amazed at the building wraps that just keep getting bigger and more interesting year after year.

And if you have little ones, they'll love the kids' zone too. As a family-friendly experience, I know my kids loved this part when they were younger.

What to Do If You Have a Ticket: Special Guests & Main Attractions

If you were lucky enough to have snagged a badge before they sold out, there will be many events to check and special guests you'll want to see.

The Legendary Exhibit Hall

The Legendary Exhibit Hall is Comic-Con's main hub. You'll be treated to more than 460,000 square feet of comics, collectibles, and more!

All the best studios and creators will be represented. You can expect to see everything from DC Comics and Marvel to Anime, LEGO, Star Wars and more.

I'd suggest that you also be on the lookout for the 'Artists Alley'. There you'll find unreal graphics, rare books and comics. Also, I suggest that you make a little time for the dedicated Fan Tables which are always a real treat!

The Debut of Apple TV

Apple TV will be making their debut in 2026, offering guests a multi-sensory pop-up installation that will transport guests into the Silo (The Lot @ 1st & J, 450 2nd Ave, San Diego), a sneak-preview screening of the first episode of 'Dark Matter's' second season, and a two-hour panel discussion set for 2:00pm Saturday, July 25th in Hall H featuring John Cena, Jessica Beil, Jennifer Connelly and many more!

Apple TV will be highlighting 'Matchbox: The Movie', 'Widow's Bay', Dark Matter', 'Mayday', and 'Silo'.

Special Guests

The special guests are always one of the biggest draws of Comic-Con.

This year, over 40 big names will be making a stop in San Diego. I know that people are excited to see comic legends Frank Miller and Mark Waid, as well as independent creator Deniz Camp, best known for his work on Marvel's 'The Ultimate's'.

Be sure to check out our San Diego Comic-Con 2026 guide for a complete list of special guests planning to be at Comic-Con 2026.

Other Happenings

Besides the exhibit hall and special guests, here are some additional attractions to look for at Comic-Con 2026:

  • Masquerade Competition
  • Films & Games
  • Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival 2026
  • Children's Film Festival
  • Portfolio Reviews

You'll definitely want to visit the official Comic-Con site for a map of the exhibit hall and complete schedule of events so you can plan your visit and make the most of your time.

Things to Do If You Don't Have a Ticket

If you don't have a ticket, don't worry. There will still be plenty to do outside the Convention Center and in the surrounding area.

I've taken my family to Comic-Con without a ticket many times and honestly, I can say that you won't be disappointed!

Explore the Pop-up Sets

One of my personal favorite parts of the Comic-Con weekend is the pop-up sets!

Pop-up sets range from food pop-ups and exclusive merchandise shops to immersive walkthroughs of TV shows and movie sets, all built just for the Comic-Con event. You'll find pop-up sets all over San Diego during Comic-Con, and many won't require an official Comic-Con badge.

2026 pop-up highlights will include Paramount+ The Lodge in the Gaslamp Quarter, Marvel x Magic: The Gathering Experience at Petco Park, and a Hello Kitty Café Truck that's scheduled to 'pop-up' right outside the Convention Center.

And that's just the start! There will also be a Super Troopers 3 Pop-Up Downtown offering free pancakes, a Chuck Jones Gallery in the Gaslamp Quarter, a Youtooz Pop-up at the ITSUSAR San Diego Store, and many more!

2026 Comic-Con Art Show

The 2026 Comic-Con Art Show should be a real highlight. Open to the public without a badge, you can expect to find original drawings & paintings, jewelry creations, sculptures and 'unusual' items.

Art pieces will encompass comic books, films, anime, and decorative art. As someone who's visited the Art Show in past years, I can say that the art is incredible and worth a visit.

Will Eisner Industry Awards

You also won't want to miss the Will Eisner Industry Award-nominated books and comics they'll have on display.

Considered the best works of the year, I'd personally recommend you make time to check them out!

Know Before You Go

From getting to Comic-Con, to parking options, road closures, the best nearby hotels for last-minute stays and more, let's make sure you're fully prepared for the event!

What is the Best Way to Get to Comic-Con?

While it's possible to drive to Downtown San Diego and find parking, if it was me, this wouldn't be my first choice. Traffic will be hectic, roads will be closed, and parking will be a bit tough to find.

The absolute best way to get to Comic-Con is to take the San Diego Trolley. Be on the lookout for a 'Special Event Line' from neighborhoods like Pacific Beach and La Jolla. The train will run with limited stops every 15 minutes from Thursday until Sunday from UC San Diego Blue Line stations between Balboa Avenue and the Santa Fe Depot.

From Sante Fe Depot, you'll want to take the Green Line towards 12th & Imperial to the Convention Center or Gaslamp Quarter stations.

Additional Transportation Options

Depending on where you're starting your day, you could take the COASTER commuter train or Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from North County and beyond to Sante Fe Depot. From there you'll be a short San Diego Trolley ride away.

If you're starting from a nearby neighborhood, you could also 'Go Green' and take a bike or scooter.

My final suggestion would be to take a San Diego rideshare such as Uber or Lyft from anywhere in the area as a very easy and convenient option.

What is the Parking Situation?

Comic-Con offers a parking lottery system, but the lottery for parking is complete for this year.

The good news is that there may still be permits available once parking opens to the general public.

ADA spaces will also be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you require ADA parking, the Convention Center and Hilton San Diego Bayfront will be your best options.

Road Closures During Comic-Con

Harbor Drive between First Avenue and Park Boulevard will be closed to all traffic. Only ADA mobility devices will be allowed in this area.

Planned closure dates and times:

  • Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026 (Preview Night): 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 – Saturday, July 25th, 2026: 7:00am – 10:00pm
  • Sunday, July 26th, 2026: 7:00am – 8:00pm

Are There Any Last-Minute Hotel Deals?

Our team at Go Visit San Diego worked together to write a couple articles that should be quite helpful - Best Hotels in Downtown San Diego and the Best Hotels Near the San Diego Convention Center. These articles will provide you two lists of recommended hotels we love near Comic-Con. One of my personal favorites is the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego.

Comic-Con International also has room blocks reserved at several nearby hotels. Check with them directly for a complete list of availability and to review their rules about booking.

One More Local Tip!

As someone that's taken my family to Comic-Con many times, with and without tickets, I can tell you that the energy is high and people watching is incredible. San Diego hosts the biggest annual Comic-Con convention in the world…yes, it's that big!

So, remember, whether you're visiting from out of town or are a local stopping by, have fun and take it all in!
