San Diego has hundreds of incredible attractions, and as a longtime resident, I’m often asked what’s the best way to see and do as much as possible. My first response is always suggesting that my friends, family and travelers of all kinds pick up a Go City San Diego pass ahead of their trip.

Whether you’re bringing the whole family along, looking for romantic couples’ activities and hotels, or even exploring the city as part of a business trip or staycation, this San Diego discount card is your ticket to the best things to do across the whole city.

What is the Go City San Diego Pass?

With a Go City San Diego pass, you can pack your schedule with exciting things to do without breaking the bank.

Go City works directly with the attractions and gear rental companies to negotiate discounted prices which they then pass on to you. And I think it’s pretty awesome that as you do more, you save more!

By combining admission to multiple attractions as well as activities, you will save as much as 50% off standard admission prices and be able to enjoy many of San Diego’s top attractions and activities at a heavily discounted price!

As an added bonus, our readers get an exclusive discount of an additional 5% savings on top of the already discounted admission and gear rental prices. Be sure to enter the discount code GVSD5OFF on the checkout page of the Go City San Diego website to claim that bonus savings.

It’s good to know that this pass isn’t the only one of its kind: there’s also the San Diego: CityPASS, which is totally separate but presents another option for budget-friendly travel. If you want to know my preferred pick and the one I recommend to friends and family, see our in-depth comparison of these two passes.

How the Pass Works

The pass is pretty simple to maneuver! Previously, there were two types available, including the All-Inclusive pass and the Explorer pass option. Now, you have three different choices, with each version tailored to a different type of traveler and their budget.

The All-Inclusive Go City San Diego pass option offers unlimited entry to any of 46 select attractions for a select number of consecutive days. The new All-Inclusive Pass Plus is a deluxe version that adds five more experiences, including some of the biggest and best attractions like the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld San Diego. Finally, there’s the Essentials Pass, which comes with the ability to choose three attractions to visit and activities to take part in within a 30-day time period.

No matter which one you pick, all versions of the pass offer discounts when purchased in advance.

Benefits of the Go City San Diego Pass

I’m a frequent traveler, so I know that planning a vacation can be both daunting and pricey. Not only does the Go City San Diego pass let you save on each activity, but it’s also great for simplifying the trip planning process.

The Go City San Diego pass can conveniently be downloaded to your mobile device so the only thing you’ll need is your phone in hand to access ticket information and to enter the attractions. Plus, with any of the passes you can pick and choose which attractions you’d like to visit as you go. There is no need to plan the details in advance.

Another benefit of the pass is that you’ll get to skip the ticket lines when you arrive, which means more time for fun!

Why We Suggest the Go City San Diego Pass to Our Friends & Family

The Go City San Diego pass isn’t all about the savings (though those don’t hurt!). It also allows you to be more flexible and spontaneous on vacation.

If you’re the sort to only visit one attraction during your trip, I’ll be very honest and say that you may not benefit much from the pass. But if you and your family like to see multiple attractions or try a few activities that need gear rentals like snorkeling or stand-up paddle boarding, then the Go City San Diego pass is something you should at least consider.

I also like that the pass makes it easier to discover attractions that may not have been on your radar and give them a shot without worrying about spending time and money on something you won’t enjoy.

You just might find a hidden gem - and if not, the next adventure is never far!

Cost of the Go City San Diego Pass

Now that you know what the Go City San Diego pass is and how it works, you must be wondering, “How much does a Go City San Diego pass cost?”

As you’ll see below, prices vary, as do which attraction tickets and activities are included. But all passes are priced for budget conscious families. The idea is to help you and your family save money, while simultaneously giving you the ability to see all the top attractions that San Diego has to offer.

Each of the Go City San Diego pass options vary in benefits and cost, so be sure to select the pass that is best for you and your family based on your individual circumstances.

Prices are subject to change, so check directly with Go City San Diego pass through any of our links on this page to make sure you have the absolute latest pricing and deals!

All-Inclusive Pass

The Go City San Diego All-Inclusive pass is a great choice for families looking to maximize their savings. With this pass, you and your family will get UNLIMITED admissions to more than 40 attractions and experiences.

There are varying options which include 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 day passes that will help you save up to 50% versus standard gate prices! I suggest starting bright and early so you can fit in as much exploration as possible while still giving yourself time to enjoy everything.

With the All-Inclusive pass you and your family will get to visit a number of the top San Diego attractions. Many of these are among my favorites, like the San Diego Natural History Museum, Fleet Science Center, and the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum.

That said, not every experience is available on this pass, with some major attractions like the zoo and safari park only available with other versions of the Go City pass. Still, there are tons of options outside of the big-name parks that are well worth a visit!

Consider purchasing your passes in advance of your trip and use our additional discount to save even more on top of the Go City San Diego pass discounted prices. Just make sure to enter ‘GVSD5OFF’ in the Promo Code box while you are checking out on the Go City website.

Buying passes in advance of your trip is a no risk option because Go City San Diego pass includes a 30-day full refund policy for non-activated All-Inclusive passes! Just make sure to start your pass within two years of the purchase date or it will expire.

The only exception is that certain attractions require you to book a reservation before visiting, but we’ve noted these attractions below so you can stay informed when planning your trip.

Current pricing for the Go City San Diego All-Inclusive pass in 2025 is as follows:

  • 1 Day Pass (Adult) - $119
  • 1 Day Pass (Kid) - $79

All-Inclusive Pass Plus

Brand new in 2025 is the All-Inclusive Pass Plus, which expands on the already great All-Inclusive Pass to let you explore even more amazing attractions and activities. I think this pass is the best way to get the most out of your San Diego vacation and that’s why it’s the first option that I personally recommend to my friends and family.

In addition to every experience available with the standard All-Inclusive Pass, this deluxe version adds five more, these being the best-known attractions in the city. With this pass, you can visit the world-famous San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld San Diego, LEGOLAND California, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, all at your leisure.

As I said above, this is my preferred pick, as it lets you do the most and gives you greater flexibility, alongside being the best possible bang for your buck if you want to do two or more things each day of your trip.

And don’t forget to use ‘GVSD5OFF’ as your promo code when checking out to get your additional discount!

The All-Inclusive Pass Plus comes in options as budget-friendly as 1 day of fun or as jam-packed as 7 days of city exploration, with prices as follows:

  • 1 Day Pass (Adult) - $169
  • 1 Day Pass (Kid) - $149
  • 2 Day Pass (Adult) - $229
  • 2 Day Pass (Kid) - $209
  • 3 Day Pass (Adult) - $299 - Bestseller!
  • 3 Day Pass (Kid) - $279 - Bestseller!
  • 4 Day Pass (Adult) - $349
  • 4 Day Pass (Kid) - $339
  • 5 Day Pass (Adult) - $449
  • 5 Day Pass (Kid) - $409
  • 7 Day Pass (Adult) - $569
  • 7 Day Pass (Kid) - $459

Though we strive to keep our prices current, rates are subject to change, so check the Go City San Diego website for the most up to date information.

Essentials Pass

I recommend the Essentials pass for vacationers or locals who want to explore a few specific attractions. It’s not quite as expansive as the All-inclusive pass, but you still get to choose from the best of the best, making it a “greatest hits” pass perfect for more laid-back trips.

Rather than granting unlimited access for each day of the pass, the Essentials Pass lets you pick 3 different activities. This includes one of San Diego’s premiere attractions — choose from the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, SeaWorld San Diego, LEGOLAND California, or Knott’s Berry Farm — PLUS two additional attractions from the 12 most popular experiences from the All-Inclusive Pass list. You don’t have to choose which attractions or activities you want to do when you buy the pass as you can pick them later.

Popular Essentials Pass attractions include the Best of the Bay Cruise, Whale Watching tours, the Maritime Museum of San Diego, Belmont Park Attraction passes, admission to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps which is one of my family’s favorite attractions in San Diego, Petco Park tours, and more!

Once you start the pass, which means you have activated by visiting an attraction or taking part in an activity, you will have 30 days to use the rest of each pass. The pass must be started within two years from its date of purchase but rest assured knowing that any non-activated passes are fully refundable within 30 days of the purchase date!

Keep in mind that you’ll only be able to pick one of the five major parks on the list to visit with your pass. So, for example, you could see either the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, but you won’t be able to see both with a single pass.

Can’t decide which zoo themed attraction to visit? We’ve got you covered with our San Diego Zoo and Safari Park comparison guide.

You can once again use our discount code GVSD5OFF when you purchase your Essentials pass. Just again be sure to enter it in the Promo Code box at checkout.

Current pricing for the Essentials Go City San Diego pass is as follows:

  • 3 Choice Pass (Adult) - $169
  • 3 Choice Pass (Kid) - $149

Just remember to be sure to double check directly with Go City San Diego before you book as prices are subject to change.
