Perhaps you’re in need or some relaxation and are looking to spend your time at the hotel? Or maybe you’re the adventurous explorer type that wants to get out and about?
Either way, there are numerous opportunities for fun, socialization, and relaxation both on-site and nearby the L’Auberge and Del Mar!

Around the Property
L’Auberge Del Mar has more than enough to keep guests entertained on the property and in the immediate area, both day or night.
Here are a few more of our team’s favorite features of this 4-star, luxury Del Mar hotel!
Take Advantage of Inventive Cocktails & Food
You don’t have to leave the property for fine dining or inventive cocktails!
Make your way to Coastline, the onsite restaurant that features seasonal menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can also sip a mixed drink poolside at Bleu Bar or end your evening with a nightcap in The Living Room, L’Auberge’s indoor bar.
Of course, room service is always an option when you prefer to dine in privacy.
The Spa at Lauberge Del Mar Resort and Spa
Enjoy the Impeccable Amenities
You won’t have to worry about running out of things to do during your visit.
The hotel has a full-service spa, tennis courts, a 24-hour fitness center featuring Peloton bikes, and an outdoor heated pool with an incomparable view of the Pacific Ocean. I personally like to use the private pathway to the beach and check out a bike to explore the village of Del Mar.
The valet is also always happy to assist with chairs and toys on the sand.
A full calendar of daily activities, including live music and congregating around the fire pit, will surely give you plenty to do during your stay.

Out and About in Del Mar
A short walk from the resort is the village of Del Mar, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and much more!
If you’re traveling with a young family, I’d recommend a visit to LEGOLAND California, or if you want to venture out a bit, I’d recommend Balboa Park where you’ll find acres of trails, more than a dozen museums and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Secure a Go Visit San Diego pass using savings code GVSD5OFF and enjoy a number of these attractions and more across San Diego, all at a discount!
But if you want to stay close to the hotel, here are four of our team’s favorite popular attractions in and around the neighborhood of Del Mar.
Experience Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Racing
Visiting in the summer or fall? The historic Del Mar Racetrack provides excitement with a little bit of good old-fashioned adult and family-friendly fun with thoroughbred horse racing, stadium seating, trackside dining, and private suites.
Have Some Family Fun at the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds
If you’re lucky enough to visit in June or the first part of July, you won’t be far from the yearly San Diego County Fair.
Think cotton candy, games, rides, performances and more. I take my family each year and I think you would really enjoy it as well.
Shop with a Little Bit of History
Shop ‘til you drop in the village of Del Mar!
Explore Del Mar Plaza’s specialty boutiques, gourmet restaurants, beauty salons, and ocean views. Oh, and did we mention it’s also dog-friendly?
Or you and your family can take a self-guided walking tour of Del Mar Village and learn about the colorful past of the residents who developed this seaside neighborhood in the early 1900s through the strategically placed silver plaques located on its historical buildings.
Visit a Bird Sanctuary: Free Flight
A family-friendly activity my kids love is to visit Del Mar’s Free Flight, an exotic bird sanctuary whose goal is to resocialize and rehome companion parrots and other exotic birds.
Here you and your family can talk to, hold, feed and bond with these exotic birds while helping prepare them mentally, physically, and emotionally for their new forever home.
