So now that you know about the Go City San Diego Pass Kids Free promotion, when you have to buy your passes, when you must use them, what you’ll get and more, let’s have a look at some additional things you should know before you go!
The Fine Print
It’s vital to know that the Kids Go Free in October promotion is only available for a limited time and must be purchased by October 13th, 2025. Once purchased, the free kids Essential Passes must be used in full by October 31st, 2025.
The official Go City San Diego Terms and Conditions page is the place to go for the complete booking rules.
One Adult Ticket = Up to Four Kids Passes
For each Adult Go City San Diego Essentials pass you purchase, you’ll be able to add up to four free Child Essentials Passes to your order.
The limit is four free Child Essentials Passes per order. Larger groups or big families may need multiple orders, just make sure that each has at least one adult pass in the cart.
Reservations and Capacity
Be aware that some attractions will need advance reservations and some operate at a specific time.
I’m thinking about activities like the 90-minute Best of the Bay Harbor Tour by City Cruises which sets out a designated time. The Petco Park Tour, one of me and my son’s favorite tours in San Diego, also works in the same way.
Keep in mind that while it is shoulder season in San Diego and not the busiest time of year for visitors, things can still fill up especially on the weekends. If you can visit on a weekday, I think that is a great idea to get the experience with slightly smaller crowds.
Age Rules and Verification
The Kid Go Free in October with the Go City San Diego Pass promotion is valid for kids ages 3-12 years old. Kids under 3 are free.
Bring your photo ID with you and be prepared to verify a child’s age if you’re asked at one of the attractions.
More Types of Go City San Diego Passes
Go City San Diego currently offers three types of passes. While the Essentials Pass is the only one that’s part of the Kids Go Free in October program, each offers incredible year-round value and savings for families.
With that in mind, even if you have older kids, are a couple, solo traveling, or a local that just wants to explore the best attractions in San Diego, these passes are the best way to get the cheapest admission prices to San Diego’s top attractions.
Let’s take a quick look at each of the three Go City San Diego pass types.
Essentials Pass
For the Kids Go Free promotion, only the Essentials Pass applies. The good news is as explained above, this is a fantastic option for families that want to check out three of San Diego’s most popular attractions choosing one of what I like to call the premium group and two more from the ‘Top 12’ group.
My kids are big animal lovers so we usually choose the San Diego Zoo or San Diego Zoo Safari Park as our first choice, and then perhaps the San Diego Natural History Museum (theNat) and Birch Aquarium at Scripps in La Jolla, our favorite aquarium in San Diego, with our second two picks.
All-Inclusive Pass
While not part of the Kids Go Free promotion in October, the All-Inclusive Pass is still an incredible deal for families that want to see a lot in anywhere from 1 to 7 days.
Sold by day rather than by attraction, you can buy a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 day pass that allows you to visit as many as 45 attractions during the duration of your pass.
Each attraction can be visited once, including some of my family’s favorites like the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, San Diego Air and Space Museum, and the Fleet Science Center with IMAX. Those are just three of the 45 total attractions and activities included as part of the pass.
For full details, attractions list, pricing, terms, and more, check out our Go City San Diego page which will give you everything you need!
All-Inclusive Pass Plus
While also not part of the Kids Go Free Go Pass promotion in October, I thought it was worth telling you about this pass as well as it’s the ultimate Go City San Diego pass for families that truly want to experience all the best attractions San Diego has to offer.
The All-Inclusive Pass Plus includes everything you get with the All-Inclusive Pass, so access to 45 attractions for a set number of days you purchase PLUS the five premium group experiences which includes the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, SeaWorld San Diego, Knott’s Berry Farm, and LEGOLAND California.
