Uss Germantown at Broadway Pier for Fleet Week
Not all of the 2025 San Diego Fleet Week events have been cancelled. Let me tell you about what events still will (or may) go on as planned!
Events Proceeding as Scheduled
Let’s start with the good news here! Not every San Diego Fleet Week was cancelled in 2025. In fact one event was unaffected and will go on as originally planned!
- Fleet Week Football Classic
The annual Fleet Week Football Classic scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, 2025 at Snapdragon Stadium with a 4:00pm kickoff will go on as scheduled. The Homecoming and Heroes Game will honor US Navy, first responders, & active military personnel.
They’ll still be giving away free SDSU short sleeve hoodies while supplies last to the first fans to arrive as well . So if you have tickets to the game, nothing has changed and I hope you enjoy the game!
Events Being Rescheduled or Changing Venues
Two San Diego Fleet Week events are in the process of being rescheduled or their venue is being changed. The good news is, they are NOT cancelled in 2025.
- Military Family Day
- Enlisted Recognition Luncheon
Military Family Day, reserved for active military members and their families, originally scheduled to take place at the Broadway Pier on Sunday, November 9th, 2025 from 10:00am to 4:00pm is looking for a new venue. The location on the official site is currently listed as ‘TBD’.
We do know that this is an incredibly important event to the San Diego Fleet Week Foundation so as we hear more, we’ll be sure to let you know!
The other event in this category, the Enlisted Recognition Luncheon, is scheduled to proceed as planned at the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park. Originally it was set for Friday, November 21st, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:30pm.
The event is set to host more than 300 military enlisted guests who have set themselves apart by their community service and within their commands. The organization is currently looking for a new date to host the event with the date still showing the original November 21st, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:30pm. If we hear more, we’ll plan to update you here.
Events Pending the Resolution of the Government Shutdown
There are also three additional San Diego Fleet Week events that are NOT cancelled at this point but rather listed as ‘Pending the Resolution of the Government Shutdown’.
- Military & Veteran Appreciation Concert
- 250th Navy and Marine Corps Birthday Celebration
- Fleet Week 5K Race & Family Walk
All three of these events look like they could be a lot of fun if they are able to go on! The Military and Veteran Appreciation Concert originally scheduled for Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park from 2:00pm to 4:00pm is coming up fast!
The Marine Band San Diego and Navy Band Southwest were set to perform a free concert where Vietnam veterans who have not previously been awarded a Commemorative Pin were to be honored. I love the music so I personally am hoping the concert will still take place but as of now it’s still ‘TBD’.
The 250th Navy and Marine Corps Birthday Celebration event set for Broadway Pier on Thursday, November 6th, 2025 from 5:00pm until 9:30pm might just have been the biggest event of them all. If the event is able to take place you can expect a military aircraft flyover, live performances, delicious food, and a drone show.
And finally the Fleet Week 5K Race & Family Walk scheduled to take place in Ruocco Park on Sunday, November 9th, 2025 starting at 8:00am is still in question. The official release has it listed as ‘pending the resolution of the government shutdown’, but we’ve also seen a note as of today saying that it may be cancelled for 2025.
I’m hopeful it goes on as planned. If not, I think it’s fair to guess that refunds will be processed for registration fees paid, but that is yet to be confirmed.
