Our team at Go Visit San Diego loves live music. We also enjoy interactive art exhibits! Put the two together in one of San Diego’s coolest neighborhoods and you have the recipe for the 2025 North Park Music Fest!

The one day event features more than 40 live musical acts spread over nine venues, 40 local artists and creators, a free street fair and a community coming together to support local businesses!

One of San Diego’s early summer highlights for me, the one day event transforms this bustling neighborhood into an epicenter of sound and creativity.

When and Where is the 2025 North Park Music Fest

The 2025 North Park Music Fest will take place at multiple venues in the North Park neighborhood on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 from 11:00am until 10:00pm.

The list of live music venues participating in the event for 21+ adults includes The Office Bar, Seven Grand, U-31, The Garden at Art Produce, Queen Bee’s, and Pretzels & Pints.

Guests of all ages are welcome at three additional venues - St. Luke’s Church, Pure Pawsh and Bivouac Ciderworks.

What Makes the North Park Music Fest a Must-visit Event for Both Locals & Tourists?

North Park is a trendy neighborhood with a bit of hipster feel that is popular with young professionals.

If you’re a music lover like me and appreciate live music and local talent, then I think the 2025 North Park Music Fest is an event you should consider. The event combines 40+ live acts across diverse genres integrating with the local cultural landscape through music, art and community .

I’m always looking for unique things to do to share with my readers and while it’s true that there are many music festivals in San Diego each year, the art installations, books, creator fair and multiple venues are what make this event a must-visit!

An Extra Special Celebration

Held the weekend before Father’s Day in 2025, if your Dad is anything like mine, what he really wants for Father’s Day is to spend time with his family and friends.

Taking Dad along for a day of live music, and a couple cold craft beers, could be a unique idea that he just might talk about for years to come!

Creator Fair Admission

I personally love live music and am excited for quite a few of the bands set to perform at this year’s event, but I also think the creator fair packed with local makers is a very local North Park experience that makes the event unique.

Admission to the creator fair including the 40+ artists, live art installations, Book Lab, and authors on North Park Way is completely free to attend and perfect for all ages!

Stay Near the North Park Music Fest

My friends and I love to meet up for music festivals, have a few drinks or craft beers and enjoy some live music.

When we plan ahead, we’ll often grab a hotel for before and after the event which is a life saver each and every time we have one. It makes coming and going a breeze, often includes parking, and is a safe way for us to really have a good time and not have to worry about getting home.

The perfect hotel to pair with the North Park Music Fest is The Lafayette Hotel and Club. Located at 2223 El Cajon Blvd., the 4-star hotel recently underwent a large renovation. Today the retro rooms and suites, reclaimed wood floors, eclectic décor, and famous pool make this the easy choice for our team!

A Diverse Lineup of Live Music

Nighttime at the Observatory North Park
Nighttime at the Observatory North Park

I love live music! Festivals like the Wonderfront Music and Arts Festival and Holo Holo San Diego are a few I look forward to attending each year.

I can say that for a one day event, the 2025 North Park Music Fest is looking like it will be an incredible experience or as the event says, ‘One Epic Day’!

What are the Top Performances Set for the Event?

Picking the best performers is really a matter of preference. If the 2025 event is anything like years past there will be no lack of talent.

My top performers are Greyboy & The Midnight Sound Affair, The Moonsellers, Afrika Baby Bam, The Schizophonics, and Rey Wolf.

Let’s have a look at the venues and music lineup set for the event!

The Office Bar

  • Address: 3936 30th St (between University and Lincoln St)
  • Must be 21+

The Office Bar is a laidback local favorite with a long bar, plenty of seating, and an area for live music. I really like the high-top tables, especially if I can snag one near the stage at the back of the bar.

These artists will be new to me with $kate Jazz starting off the event in the late afternoon.

  • $kate Jazz – 4:20pm
  • Bachata Surf – 6:15pm
  • El Funeral – 7:45pm
  • Neighborhood Kids – 9:15pm

Seven Grand

  • Address: 3054 University Ave (between Illinois and Ohio St.)
  • Must be 21+

Seven Grand is a whiskey lounge with a large bourbon menu plus plenty of local and craft beers. I’m a fan of the backlit wall filled with bottles which adds to the ambiance. The venue works especially well for live music.

I like jazz and smooth instrumentals so all of these performances are of interest to me!

  • Rey Wolf – 5:00pm
  • Greyboy & The Midnight Sound Affair – 6:30pm
  • Moonsellers – 8:00pm

Queen Bee’s

  • Address: 3925 Ohio St (between University and Lincoln Ave.)
  • Must be 21+

Queen Bee’s Art and Cultural Center is designed for special events like corporate gatherings and weddings. Depending on how it’s set up for the music festival, there could be a large stage and plenty of space for dancing!

The performances I’d recommend would be Strawberry Fuzz and The Macks, but all of these performers could really put on a show!

  • Hingada – 4:00pm
  • T.C.M.F – 5:00pm
  • You Can Call Me Sugar – 6:10pm
  • Sunbendr – 7:20pm
  • Strawberry Fuzz – 8:30pm
  • The Macks - 9:40pm
  • The Schizophonics – 10:50pm

U-31

  • Address: 3112 University Ave (between Illinois and Iowa St.)
  • Must be 21+

U-31 is unique in that it’s more than just a bar. It has TVs, a pool table, and I can say some pretty tasty food as well. It has an outdoor patio and a stage which they’ll surely use for the event.

When I think of U-31, I think of DJs, so the highlights here for me are DJ Symphony and Afrika Baby Bam.

  • Parker Edison presents Rap Diego – 2:00pm
  • Skinny Veny – 4:00pm
  • Tre Aces – 4:30pm
  • Ray Riley – 5:00pm
  • Kahlee – 5:30pm
  • Cherrell Terri – 6:00pm
  • Soul Disciples – 6:30pm
  • DJ Symphony – 8:00pm
  • Afrika Baby Bam – 9:00pm

Garden at Art Produce

  • Address: 3139 University Ave (between Herman Ave. and 31st St. Behind Botanica)
  • Must be 21+

The Garden at Art Produce is a gallery that should offer a vibrant atmosphere for the artists performing at the venue. Aly Rowell is the artist I’m most interested to see here.

  • Gone Tomorrow
  • Whiskey and Burlap
  • Lisa Sanders – 4:30pm
  • Aly Rowell – 5:30pm
  • Julianna Zachariou – 6:45pm
  • John Doe (from X) – 8:00pm

St. Luke’s Church

  • Address: 3725 30th St. (between Landis and Gunn St.)
  • All Ages Welcome

St Luke’s Episcopal Church will host six performers on Saturday in an event that welcomes kids of all ages. This is another one of the venues where I want to give you a suggestion but I just think all the performers could really shine!

  • Tasha Smith – 12:00pm
  • Bassett Brothers – 1:00pm
  • Gayle Skidmore – 2:00pm
  • In Mazes – 3:00pm
  • Topeka Clementine – 3:30pm
  • Matrida Baozi & Friends – 5:00pm

Pretzels and Pints

  • Address: 3812 Ray St. (between University Ave and N. Park Way)
  • Must be 21+

Pretzels and Pints is your corner bar serving a variety of incredibly tasty pretzels and a wide selection of craft beers. They also have sandwiches and the pretzel pizza which is not to be missed. This might be my favorite venue on the list!

  • Roosevelt Band – 11:30am
  • The Preservationists – 12:10pm
  • Ryan Blue – 12:50pm
  • Fools and Fables – 1:40pm
  • Peach Cooler – 2:30pm
  • Ripening – 3:15pm
  • Shelbi Bennett – 4:00pm
  • Cowboy TV – 5:00pm

Pure Pawsh

  • Address: 4045 30th St. (between Polk and Lincoln Ave)
  • All Ages Welcome

Another venue welcoming guests of all ages, Pure Pawsh is a pet store with awesome art work that holds special events and serves beer. I feel like that’s all that needs to be said for this very unique establishment!

Their performances are free and no ticket is needed to attend.

  • The Norseman – 6:00pm
  • Sutton James – 7:00pm
  • The Turgid Succulents – 8:00pm

Biovac Ciderworks

  • Address: 3986 30th St. (between University and Lincoln Ave)
  • All Ages Welcome

Biovac Ciderworks is a swanky restaurant and bar serving delicious food, fun drinks, and their very own San Diego ciders. No ticket is needed to attend.

  • Julia Sage – 2:00pm

The Creator Fair & Exciting Art Installations

Awesome Bookstore, Verbatim Books in North Park

While the live music may be what you think of first, you also won’t want to miss the art installations at this year’s North Park Music Fest.

Attending is an excellent way to check out the neighborhood’s art scene as well as support the local businesses and talented artists.

What is the Creator Fair?

Hosted by Verbatim Books x Visual Arts Studio, the creator fair is a free street market along Ray Street and North Park Way with 40+ booths with more than 40 local creators. The community event will feature zines, handmade books, local art and crafts, one of a kind art, and indie goods.

The event is scheduled from 11:00am until 6:00pm.

It’s also dog-friendly and will feature interactive demos, spoken word, and the Book Lab Maker Space, where old books become art! We’ll have to explore that together!

What Else is There to See & Do at the North Park Music Fest?

You could always enjoy San Diego’s great weather or just grab a coffee and explore the area but for me, I’m interested in checking out the interactive art installations!

Local artists will line the streets offering their art for display and some for sale. I’m personally interested to see some of the artists creating live at the event.

There are too many artists and creators to name but a few of the standouts are Library Shop SD, ToshWerks, Out of the Woods, Puna Press, The Comicbook Artists of San Diego, North Park Historical Society, Heather Nix, and Dion Celebrado.

MTS Bus in San Diego
MTS Bus in San Diego

The North Park Music Fest will take place at a number of venues throughout North Park with 3812 Ray St, San Diego, CA 92104, just across from Verbatim Books, being an excellent place to start!

How Can I Get to the North Park Music Fest?

North Park is centrally located in Downtown San Diego just north of Balboa Park off the 805.

Public transportation options are available including the bus and rideshares like Uber or Lyft. You could also easily drive and park as the area has quite a few parking lots available.

How Can I Find the Music Venues in North Park

The event has a free Festival Navigator by Walkabout available on iOS and Android that will help you plan and map out your day.

I can say that the area is walkable, just be careful as the streets can get busy, especially in the evenings.

There are a number of parking lots and garages off of University Avenue. Many offer handicapped parking spaces for those who need it.

LAZ Parking at 2747 University Ave. offers 24 hour parking if you need to leave your car overnight.

Things to Know Before You Go

Now that you know the basics about the 2025 North Park Music Fest, let’s dive into a few frequently asked questions about the event.

With experience at many of San Diego’s top music festivals and events, plus a good understanding of the North Park neighborhood, below are some things we think you should know before you arrive!

How Can I Ensure I Can See My Favorite Artist Perform?

I can say that the 2024 North Park Music Fest was very popular and well attended!

Our founder Todd was actually just talking to a friend who was looking forward to the event and wanting to make sure she too could get the best spots to enjoy her favorite artists.

Our number one suggestion is to make a note of the start times for your favorite performers and make sure to arrive early. We were told that getting to venue capacity is possible, so arrive as much as 30 minutes to one hour early to make sure you have enough time to get inside and find a great spot!

What Else Should I Know About North Park?

North Park is located to the north and north west of Balboa Park. The area has a trendy feel with cafes and eateries, indie boutiques along University Avenue, and neighborhood bars with a local feel serving a wide selection of spirits and craft beer.

The vibe has a young professional, hipster, student feel with brunch spots, sushi, taquerias, and coffee shops being plentiful.

I’m a fan of the North Park Thursday Market myself which often has live music and the Observatory North Park, a historical 1929 theater that hosts rock, rap, EDM concerts and more is quite a treat for live music lovers.

I also really enjoy the vintage North Park sign which makes for an awesome picture!

What Can I Do in and Around North Park with My Family?

Besides the restaurants, shopping and coffee shops in North Park itself, Balboa Park just to its south offers many of our team at Go Visit San Diego’s favorite things to do in the city!

Balboa Park is home to trails and cafes and is the perfect place for a budget-friendly activity like a picnic on the grass with your kids.

You could also spend an afternoon at the world-famous San Diego Zoo plus more than a dozen museums including a couple of my kid’s favorites like the Museum of Us, Fleet Science Center with IMAX, and the San Diego Air and Space Museum.

The cheapest way to get tickets to the zoo and museums is with a Go City San Diego pass. Use discount code GVSD5OFF at checkout for even more savings!

What Should I Wear to the North Park Music Fest

I would suggest that you dress comfortably with good shoes and sunscreen if you visit during the day. There is no special attire required for the event.
